Muzikon (a new Regional music label based in Malaysia) in collaboration with DIGI recently brought in Philippines' pop music icon whose being in the entertainment industry for 28 years and has eleven albums and eleven AWIT (Philippines equivalent to the Grammy Awards) under his belt, Gary Valenciano or popularly known as Gary V.

He was in town to launch his latest single titled "Ayu" - sung in Bahasa Malaysia.

The affable and approachable Gary was delighted to hang out and shared stories to the media about his past, his forray into acting and music and his future plans.

Normally, when I hear about Filipno stars, the ones that pop into my mind would be Lea Salonga, Regine Velasquez and Jed Madela.

It was amazing to hear Gary V's voice during the "live" session at a media conference.

The press conference was held in conjunction to unveil his latest regional single titled "Ayu" and a forthcoming two showcases to be held in Kota Kinabalu at Horizon Hotel on 12 November 2011 and at Wisma Fui Chiu on 13 November 2011.

According to Pearly, DIGI is excited to once again collaborate with Muzikon and offer DIGI customers a not to be missed unique experience with top Filipino act, Gary V who will be performing live at his first Malaysian showcase.

Richard Voon futher elaborated that the latest regional single "Ayu" by Gary V is the continuation of Muzikon's mission to promote Malaysian artiste and music across the ASEAN region. The company enables ASEAN artistes to explore each other's markets and encourage them to sing their songs in a different language and the company is very fortunate to have one of Philippines most popular artiste and living legend to participate in this mission.

Hi Kevin,

Gary V. is huge in Philippines. :) We call him Mr. Pure Enegry. When he hold concerts, we can have it for 4 hours. :) He's a real total performer - can sing and dance so well. I think some of the numbers in the concert were conceptualized by him. Oh, and he composes and arranges most of his songs, too. Needless to mention that he can play music instruments.

This is taken from one of his many concerts. And thats just the opening. :)

Sorry that I'd put you up with this. Obviously, I'm a big fan and I can't get tickets right now for his concert here in KL. And, just frustrated that he was launched as this when it could have been bigger. :(
